This morning, the majority of Americans have been unable to access the internet on their devices, due to a reported attack claimed by the Kremlin.
As a result, the country has come to a standstill. Many other contries around the world are also affected. Most companies, government departments, financial transactions, banks, flights, and communications between people have been completely paralyzed. Social movements have broken out in America, especially in Washington DC and in the largest cities in the country.
Many have not been able to contact their loved ones. And then, they were fearful of losing having access to their bank accounts and their savings. In addition to these problems, the federal government is concerned by potential difficulties in its management, its ability to govern, and to communicate with the population.
The most likely hypothesis of this attack is a Russian maneuver to destabilize the country. It’s alleged that approximately ten Russian Navy’s ships located in the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean have located the most important internet cables which connect the U.S. to the internet. These cables submerged by hundreds od meters beneath the oeceans, have reportedly been cut by the Russian ships. Several American specialized companies attempt to locate and repair these cables.
The federal government has already requested that the biggest internet companies etablish a national internet connection to guarantee the most critical numeric functions across the country. However, this project will take several days to install. In the meantime, schools, hospitals, and food shops remain opened and operational.
While the country wait for a resolving to this major attack, it has a very strong impact on the economy around the world. However, its full consequences aren’t known at this time.
